Bitter-sweet

Thursday, December 4, 2008 0

A week has now passed since ECWA’s November 22 show where the Magnificent One, Magnum, went one on one with Freak Nastty in a steel cage. Also that night The Frederick of Hollywood defended his title against Tommy Trouble. The night started off with a whirlwind victory and reveal, and ended with a shock heard round the squared circle. Since these two events resulted in two drastically different emotions, I shall address each separately below.

Unleashing the Beast

What did I tell you? What did I TELL you! Everyone at ECWA’s November 22, 2008 show got to bear witness to the awesomeness that is Magnum. Lock me in a cage; surround me with Blue Steel; back me into a corner and I will unleash the beast within and attack with unbridled vengeance.

Freak Nastty … you fooled me into signing a match with you in a steel cage. Duped me into thinking I was getting ownership of the ECWA. Well, the joke is on you! I walked into the cage undefeated, and I walked out of the cage undefeated.

Oh, how it all played out. It was the most innovative, the most diabolical, the most awesome plan ever put together in all of professional wrestling. It was 10 months in the making and it was the best kept secret in wrestling. We had all the idiots in the locker room fooled, and we had all the idiot fans fooled. Andrew Ryker has made his way to the A-List … Andrew Ryker is the newest member of the Magnum Militia … Andrew Ryker is the man who attacked Freak Nastty! You want to hate him for it, but you can’t help but love him because he is that good. But save your applause … you don’t deserve to cheer for Andrew Ryker.

The Magnum Militia is truly awesome. With yours truly, The Frederick of Hollywood, and now Andrew Ryker … we can not be stopped. Never before has there been, and never again will there be such an awesome assembly of A-List talent. Accept it. We are stronger than all of you … we are smarter than all of you … and without a shadow of a doubt, we are better looking than all of you.

Ladies and gentlemen … the Magnum Militia reigned supreme in the steel cage, we destroyed the MYTH of Freak Nastty, and we’re looking forward to a bright future … the future’s so bright, we gotta wear shades!

The Frederick of Hollywood Vs. Tommy Trouble

Where do I begin? For once your hero, your role model Magnum is at a loss for words. I am still dejected, still bewildered, and still angry about what went down on November 22, 2008. And believe me, you don’t want to come face to face with an angry Magnum.

Everything was set in place, but somehow it all went terribly wrong. Tommy Trouble is a talented, strong, and formidable force in the ECWA. But he is not an A-Lister. Tommy’s trouble is that he cares what you fans think. He cares about doing the right thing. He needs to take more care in his style and personality. But I digress…

Freak Nastty’s little interference was just one kink in our chain. And Freak, you better watch that back of yours that keeps getting attacked because you messed with the wrong group. But something else went wrong that night. Someone messed with destiny. Someone’s un-divine intervention led to the rarest of rare mistakes by a member of the Magnum Militia.

But know this … no one, NO ONE outsmarts Magnum. Vengeance will be ours, and we will have that belt back soon enough.

Magnum - Professional Wrestler

Friday, November 21, 2008 0
That's right. MANAGER Magnum is entering singles action, tomorrow, November 22, 2008. The ECWA is once again trying to one-up Magnum, but they forget -- amazingly so -- just how awesome he is. He is currently UNDEFEATED in the squared circle and has no intentions on changing that status. Be there or be squared-circle.

The clock ticks down for Freak Nastty

Tick Tock Freak Nastty! If that IS your real name... are you ready for Saturday? You better come prepared. I fear no man, and believe me when I say, I can take you out 6 different ways from the fetal position.

Magnum is on a tear

Friday, November 7, 2008 0
ECWA fans are in for a treat. Magnum has been training non-stop. He's undoubtedly faster, stronger, and obviously smarter than the rest of the locker room. Thanks to the in-ring guidance of ECWA Heavyweight Champion, Frederick of Hollywood, Magnum is certain to continue his unbeaten streak.

Don't miss the most awesome night pro wrestling has ever seen ... be there. November 22, 2008.

Steel Cage Match Vs. Freak Nastty: ECWA November 22, 2008

Thursday, November 6, 2008 0

Redefining the steel cage match

Since Magnum is in a steel cage match, you know it won't be any ordinary steel cage match. In fact, let's redefine it: The "Blue Steel Cage Match" in honor of my good friend and colleague, Derrick Zoolander.

Frederick of Hollywood Vs. Tommy Trouble

Wednesday, November 5, 2008 0
Tommy Trouble. Young, strong, talented ... and now you've got a shot at the ECWA Heavyweight Title. Tommy, what you possess with the above-mentioned attributes, you lack in smarts. Now, compared to the average Delawarean, you're freakin' Einstein. But when you go head to head with the mastermind that is Magnum, you're still in nursery school. You will learn soon enough that the combined forces of Frederick of Hollywood & Magnum, the A-Team, if you will, is unbeatable. Come with everything you've got, leave it all in the ring, and we'll make sure someone's there to carry you out of the arena.

Frederick is living the Hollywood life ... but you Tommy Trouble ... you are just California Dreaming!

Training Injury

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 0
Ouch. While working on my new and improved finishing move (don’t worry, you’ll get to see it) I stubbed my toe. No worries … A quick trip to the pedicurist will have it fixed in a jiffy. Just in time for my to shove my boot down Freak’s throat!

Training Log

Sunday, November 2, 2008 0
Magnum had a great day of training. After benching 385 for reps and then 2 hours of ladder and combat drills, he threw on his 84-lb weighted Xvest and tread water in the fast rapids of the Delaware River. Pressed for time, he only did 90 minutes of work in the water. Time for a post-workout latte and massage.

No pain, no gain

Saturday, November 1, 2008 0
Once you get past the awe of the once-only-thought-possible-via-Michelangelo-sculpture-V-shaped-back, check out the nice bruising on the upper right side. This was just from a one-hour "light" session with ECWA Heavyweight Champion Frederick of Hollywood. Fred is a savage and takes no prisoners, even when it comes to his faithful manager! But this is NOTHING compared to the pounding Freak Nastty is going to receive from Magnum's fists, knees, and elbows. See you in November Freak!

Magnum is even more awesome

Friday, October 31, 2008 0
Shortly after the announcement of Magnum’s steel cage match against Freak Nastty on November 22, 2008, Frederick of Hollywood decided it was time to get in the ring for some real training. Magnum is awesome enough as it is, but with some in-ring training, Freak Nastty really doesn’t stand a chance.

Freak Nastty is in for a long night. It seems the wrestling
ring is to Magnum no different than a dance floor. He got skillz!!! Look at the facts. With no training whatsoever Magnum won back-to-back 25+ man battle royals … and now, he only has to face one man!? It seems almost unfair.

See you on November 22 Freak. You better bring you’re A game … but it will be no match for someone who’s on the A List!

Magnum’s Thoughts on the Upcoming ECWA Show

Monday, October 20, 2008 0
The ECWA’s October 25, 2008 show is Super 8 Tournament night. If each event in professional wrestling was a holiday, the Super 8 would be pro wrestling’s Christmas. Every year enthusiastic wrestling fans wait and wait until the big night arrives. In addition to the big dance, there’s also a Tag Team Summit over-the-top-rope match plus the retirement of Indy Icon, Ace Darling. So, where should Magnum begin?

Let’s start with the Super 8 Tournament. Once again Jim Kettner has put together a great mix of talent, charisma, and entertainment. The local boys – Aden Chambers, Chase Del Monte, and Loca Vida – welcome Alex Koslov, Maverick, Frankie Arion, Scott Reed, and Shannon Moore into the hallowed halls of the ECWA. Magnum admits it – he’s looking forward to watching who will reign supreme this year. The action should be non-stop and uber entertaining.

And oh yes, the Tag Team Summit. Remember back, if you will, to May 10, 2008. The ECWA debut of your favorite entertainer, the magnificent one, the awesome entity, MAGNUM. On that historic night, Commissioner Naegele thought he was getting the better of Magnum by inserting his awesomeness into the Olympiad rumble match. And what happened? Magnum won!! Now, although Magnum is a MANAGER and would normally put his lawyers to work about being forced to wrestle, we can never forget that there is no limit to Magnum’s awesomeness. Paired with Frederick of Hollywood as a partner, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more confident. And once the fans see Magnum’s brand new, couture in-ring ensemble, they’ll realize that there has never before been anything so fantastic in all of pro wrestling.

Ace Darling. “Indy Icon” is not just a nickname. It’s a fact. Inside the ring his talent is hard to match; on the mic he cuts compelling and entertaining promos that everyone should learn from; and in the locker room he is a coach, a friend, and an inspiration. The ECWA, the fans, and professional wrestling are losing a hero. Good luck, Ace.

And how could I forget – the pre-show Halloween Costume Contest! Forgive me while I pause to laugh…

OK.

When I think of a Halloween costume, I think of something creepy, scary, or funny. But the ECWA fans are already creepy, scary, and funny!!! So what will their costumes have to offer? I don’t know if I should be afraid, or relieved that many of their ugly mugs will be behind a mask. We shall see!

Come one, come all to a great night of athleticism, entertainment, and awesomeness!

Magnum to Compete in ECWA's Tag Team Summit

Friday, October 17, 2008 0
14 ECWA Teams and 1 loser, I mean, loner enter the ring and battle it out. It's a wild match featuring 29 ECWA Superstars each of whom have something to prove. The ring has been reinforced! Can you predict the outcome of this star studded event? Learn more.

ECWA Halloween Costume Contest

Well, well, well! The ECWA is hosting a Halloween Costume Contest on October 25, 2008 at their Super 8 Tournament show. Ha! Magnum can't wait to see what the fans come dressed as ... as a matter of fact, Magnum suspects the fans will look BETTER in their costumes than they do in everyday life. Oh the insanity!

ECWA Super 8 Show

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 0
The October 25 ECWA wrestling show is going to be a really big event. Anyone who likes pro wrestling just a little will be truly entertained!

What's going down?

For starters, the Annual ECWA Super 8 tournament. This is THE BIGGEST tournament in all of independent wrestling. This year it's featuring Scott Reed, Alex Koslov, Aden Chambers, Chase Del Monte, Loca Vida, Maverick, Frankie Arion and former WWE superstar Shannon Moore. The action will be non-stop.

And what's in store for the Magnificent One, Magnum?

Well, once again the ECWA owners are throwing The Mastermind of Mayhem, Magnum, into a 25+ man over the top rope "Summit" tag team battle royal. Every man enters, one man stands alone as the winner. Of course, nothing is predictable in professional wrestling, but we all know what happened the last time Magnum was in such a battle -- he won!!

With Magnum's incredible talent, coupled with his unfettering confidence, there's no doubt that he will put on quite a show. Magnum is out to prove, once again, that he is THE MOST AWESOME ENTITY IN ALL OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!

The Super 8 show should NOT BE MISSED!!!

Leather N Lace vs. The Valedictorians

Sebastian Night’s powerhouse team of J.J. Crew Guy and Hot Shot Mike Reed, better known as “LEATHER N LACE” have been mowing down the other teams in the ECWA on their road to hopefully getting a tag team championship shot at the Logan Brothers. Month after month, they have beaten their competition and have become more focused and sadistic along the way, largely due to the guidance of Night as their manager. They gained the reputation of being the bullies of the tag team division and they have made everyone (or we should say ALMOST everyone) sit up and take notice! The only team that seemed not to be concerned with the rise of Leather n Lace was the most legendary tag team in the promotions history, Billy Bax & Rob Eckos “THE VALEDICTORIANS.”

Ace Darling forced to return both title belts

You saw him flee the arena with both belts on May 10, 2008. Well, the ECWA big-whigs are forcing him to show up July 26, 2008 and return the belts. Will he show? What will happen when he does? Find out that night.

Jim Kettner gets back in the ECWA ring

Part owner of the ECWA, Jim Kettner is forced out of retirement in to the squared circle! This is all courtesy of the other part owners, Commissioner Naegele and Freak Nastty out voting Kettner as to who represent ECWA management teaming with the Logan Brothers to take on the 848 lb. Nigerian Nightmares and their partner, the evil Prince Nana.

Adults Only

For months, the offices of the ECWA have been negotiating with the Duke and his Squire about joining the promotion. They are the hottest thing overseas and Commissioner Naegele has been trying to get them into the ECWA. There has been one road block…
They hate kids!

And knowing that ¾ of the ECWA fan base is kids under the age of 18, they have been reluctant and obstinate about appearing here. Finally Commissioner Naegele was only able to get them to agree on July 26 if the pending stipulation was in place that if they win, all kids under the age of 18 years of age will be BANNED from attending future ECWA cards. Naegele agreed to the terms even putting the future of ¾ of his own fan base at stake. No one seems to know what Naegle was thinking (it is well known that in ECWA management circles, Naegele is indifferent to kids, Freak Nastty and Jim Kettner love having the kids at the shows). But nonetheless, the match has been made.

A real-man's sandwich

Tuesday, July 1, 2008 0
THE MAGNUM
It seems that most people don’t know how to make a substantial sandwich. Let’s face it. One or two slices of deli meat just doesn’t cut it!

Key Ingredients:
-½ pound of your choice of pure, natural deli meat (avoid honey glazed, smoked, etc.)
-2 slices of whole/multi grain bread

Optional Ingredients (Magnum believes in individuality, but combine as many as possible):
-Cheese (your choice)
-Lettuce
-Mayonnaise
-Mustard
-Tomatoes
-Etc.

Assembly:
-Take bread. Coat both sides with your choice of mayonnaise, mustard, etc.
-When using cheese, start with one or two slices and place only on one piece of bread.
-On top of the cheese, please the ½ pound of meat.
-On top of the meat, place another slice or two of cheese.
(*Note: since you always want lettuce on top of the cheese, and not under it, please follow the above assembly order.)
-When using sliced tomatoes, add them on top of the cheese.
-Then add lettuce.
-Finally, close the sandwich with the second piece of bread.

IMPORTANT! When using a roll that has a distinct top and bottom, start assembly with the bottom piece. You do NOT want the lettuce and tomato under the meat. This is bad sandwich etiquette.

Do NOT cut sandwich in half or quarters. Awesomeness is not divisible.

THE MAGNUM AWESOME
Eat two of the above and feel complete.

Not the face!

Monday, June 30, 2008 0

This weekend tragedy struck. While shaving, Magnum cut himself near the left edge of his lips. No pain was felt at the time because Magnum’s face, while incredibly beautiful, also has a very strong chin. Nonetheless, there is, for the first time ever, a blemish on the face of Magnum.

Magnum’s legal team has advised him NOT to mention the name of the offending razor company due to a pending lawsuit. We are seeking monetary compensation for the physical and emotional stress and injury to both Magnum and his fans.

While Magnum can pull off any look, and yes, can even makes a scab look sexy, we cannot allow an injustice – an INSULT – of this magnitude to go unpunished.

We are confident that there will be no signs of this injury, or any other blemish, by the time the ECWA Pro Wrestling July 26, 2008 show comes along. Thank you in advance for all your get well cards and presents.

Magnum is awesome

Tuesday, May 27, 2008 0

Once again ECWA Pro Wrestling has totally misinterpreted the facts. If Magnum is one thing, he is awesome. But if he is something else, it’s forgiving; therefore, the ECWA will not be hit with a lawsuit from Magnum’s legal team for the slanderous remarks they posted to their Web site. Magnum is here to make an ad hominem. Look it up!

If you care to read the “detailed report” on ECWA Pro Wrestling’s Web site you’ll notice the erroneous remark, “He won by accident…” How dare you! No one is awesome by accident, and Magnum is the definition of awesome.

There were a number of accidents that night at the ECWA, but Magnum winning the Spring Olympiad Rumble was not one of them.

Accidents happen:
-Frederick of Hollywood getting eliminated in the Olympiad. Frederick obviously didn’t think Mega could ever be so lucky; I mean, who would? Mega did NOT eliminate Frederick. Frederick was a felo de se. Look it up!
-Mega putting his hands on me, Magnum. How dare he! Mega even ignored my instructions of “Not the face!” But Magnum’s awesomeness showed as he was too sly to be hit.
-Those gray t-shirts Magnum saw in the crowd. Please tell me those weren’t on purpose!

Again, it was NO ACCIDENT that Magnum should now be called, among other awesome names, “Mr. Olympiad.” The only accident was that Frederick wasn’t in the ring to send Mega over the top ropes. Believe me … Magnum does NOT like to get his hands dirty. Magnum goes to only the best salons and spas, and celebrity stylists and manicurists are not cheap.

And let me fill you in on something, dear report writer. You’ve shown your lack of intelligence and savvy in your attempt to insult me by calling Magnum a weasel. In this industry, referring to a manager as a weasel is the highest compliment. So, thanks for the mad props.

Magnum is here to tell you the truth, once and for all. There was no way Mega was going to win the Olympiad. Mega is not as good as Magnum. He never was and he never will be. There are forces in this universe that you cannot understand (because you’re not Magnum) … these forces would not allow a travesty like that to happen. You can’t stop the sun from rising in the morning; you can’t stop the earth from turning; and you can’t stop the awesomeness that is … MAGNUM!

Magnum makes an impact on the ECWA

Monday, May 12, 2008 0
Magnum took ECWA Pro Wrestling by storm last night, adding a touch of class and a whole lotta awesomeness to the dumpy, glamless Delaware hole that is the ECWA. Frederick of Hollywood, the brightest shining star in the dark cloud that is the ECWA went on to demolish Mega with a humongous slam. Can you say "power"?

Magnum was off the hook, stealing hearts as he watched Frederick take the win.

Commissioner Naegle tried to get the better of Magnum by throwing him into the 27-man Over the Top Rope Spring Olympiad rumble ... but Magnum showed him who's awesomest by WINNING THE MATCH!!! Magnum, in true style, survived just about every member of the ECWA locker room, and then finally eliminated 400-pound Mega for the win.

More details and footage to follow.
